There is no piano audition for the region orchestra. Pianists may tape for all-state on the region taping date. See the All-State Taping page.
Who may audition:
Any student enrolled in a public, private, or home school setting that
plays a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass, or harp) and is
sponsored by a TMEAmember.
Public school students should be entered by their orchestra or band
director. Private School students should be entered by their
orchestra, band, or music director. Home school students may be
entered by a private teacher or parent.
Every student must have a TMEA member sponsor as a current membership number is required for the entry process. Every
school director with students entered must be available to judge these
auditions.
In
the case of an emergency a proxy may be used. Proxies
who are hired if paid, are paid by the person they are
substituting
for. Parents of home school students must provide a competent
judge if
they are not qualified themselves.
What they audition on:

Parents
of home school students must provide a competent judge if they are not
qualified themselves. Please contact Mr. Frazier if you have more
