Harp exerpts will be taken from the

TMEA website and chosen

on the day of the audtion.

There is no piano audition for the region orchestra. Pianists may tape for all-state
on the region taping date.

Who may audition:

Any student enrolled in a public, private, or home school setting that plays a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass, or harp) and is sponsored by a TMEA member. Public school students should be entered by their orchestra or band director. Private School students should be entered by their orchestra, band, or music director. Home school students may be entered by a private teacher or parent.
Every student must have a TMEA member sponsor as a current membership number is required for the entry process. Every school director with students entered must be available to judge these auditions.
In the case of an emergency a proxy may be used. Proxies who are hired if paid, are paid by the person they are substituting for. Parents of home school students must provide a competent judge if they are not qualified themselves.

How much is the audition fee?

$10.00 per student. Please make all checks to Region 18 orchestra. Schools should play with one check.

How do students enter?

Your TMEA sponsor (normally your orchestra, band, or music teacher) must enter throught the TMEA.org website.
Scroll down to orchestra division and follow the directions. Its a simple process.
A current TMEA membership number is required for all students.
Students may be entered until Midnight October 4th. No late entries will be accepted, no exceptions.

Home School and Private School Students?

These students are welcome to audition as well. The rules for entry are the same.
A TMEA member must sponsor the students entry.
Parents of home school students must provide a competent judge if they are not qualified themselves. Please contact Mr. Frazier if you have more questions.
